Dr. Andrew Kanter is IMO’s Chief Medical Officer. He has spent 12 years with IMO as Chief Medical Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and President. He is also Director of IMO’s Clinical Integration Team and is the point person for Meaningful Use and nomenclature mapping. He also has served as the Former Director of Health Information Systems/Medical Informatics for the Millennium Villages Project at the Earth Institute and as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Biomedical Informatics and Clinical Epidemiology at Columbia University. He received both his MD and MPH from Harvard University in 1991 and completed a medical residency and Chief residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle from 1991–1995. Through his interest in the application of ICT to health for the developing world, he has worked in and traveled through more than 50 countries.
